Introduction
Thanks
for coming by. At GinFor's Odditiques, you'll
find some familiar names but not just the usual suspects. As I
like to think Dr. Frankenstein might have said to Walt Whitman, "I sing
the body eclectic." (Apologies to Walt.) The internet can be a
mighty impersonal place, but we hope you'll feel comfortable within our
rather eccentric virtual walls. You'll find our cats wandering
around, and there are puns mixed with the pottery, maybe some giggles
with the glass.
We
buy what we like (and what we can get
at a good price), so what's on
the site is what I call our rotating collection. I've never
knowingly passed up a sweet piece of Roseville at a good price, but I
don't buy by name. We're one of the first sites (especially in
the US) to offer a significant selection of West German pottery.
At any given time, you're likely to find numerous items by
companies or people you never heard of before as well as unmarked and
unidentified items. If it's quirky and well done, we'll go after
it. When people ask how we can part with really neat things, the
answer is simple. We get to go look for more. Well, once
the cats are fed and bills are paid, then we get to go look for
more. So, all proceeds go to support good causes: my
spouse, our cats, our creditors, my auction addiction, and the plumbing
project that never ends.
Our
guarantee is simple.
If you don't like the item when you get it, then mail it back for
a full refund (including whatever you originally paid for shipping).
Your only risk is the cost to send it back. If there's a
mistake on our end, then we also pay the return shipping...one of
several reasons we try not to make too many mistakes.
We
like
to make payment simple as well.
If we can put it into the bank without too much
trouble, odds are that we'll take it. Checks and money orders are
just fine, as is Paypal. Right now, we can only take credit cards
through Paypal. If you want to do some other online method or
even want to pay with cash, we're flexible. Sorry, but Monopoly
money, anything you may have printed in your basement, and chickens are
right out.
