Jasba
Jaspatina Vase
Description:
This mid century
German pottery vase is from the hard to find Jaspatina
line introduced
by Jasba in 1955. The body is glazed in a dark matte green
covered by a
thick, ligher green glaze, but the highlight, literally
and
aesthetically, is the gold on the rim and running like
flames along the
body. This gold is fired in the kiln, not applied
later as on
most gold-rimmed vases. It's a difficult technique
to control. The Jaspatina line is most often found in the 4-6" range, but items 8" or more are particularly difficult to find. This green background is the "standard" color, while the Red Jaspatina is even more difficult to find. The vase has the Jasba label and the gold inkstamp mark. Form: 582 Dimensions: Height is about 7 1/2" with a lower body width of about 5". The cupped rim and
partially flattened body are typical design elements on
W. German pottery from the 1950s.Condition: excellent. There's a tiny, tiny glaze flake right on the bottom rim, possibly from grinding at the factory. I only mention it for extra openess on the net. You can see the flaw to the left in the picture of the mark. Of course, all our sales are fully guaranteed. Price: $225 plus
shipping and insurance.
Shipping: $10.25 for Priority Mail and insurance within the US. International shipping rates by request. To buy an item (or more), just e-mail us, or you can call us at 812-467-0191. It works best if you include the "item" code to let us know which item or items you're interested in. The code is at the beginning of each listing and is usually two letters followed by a number. We'll confirm that the item is still available, make
sure we agree on the total, and answer any We try to ship in one or two days after payment arrives, and we're generous with the bubblewrap and styrofoam peanuts. If there's something you'd like us to find for you, let us know. We're just itching to please you, or maybe that was poison ivy we got into. Remember that all proceeds go to support good causes: my spouse, our cats (see the "staff" here), our creditors, my auction addiction, and the plumbing project that never ends. |

We
try not to be overly picky about the
details. If we can put it in the bank and pay
some bills without any undo fuss, then we'll probably
take it. We're quite happy to take checks and money orders, and we're
signed up with Paypal,
which is the easiest route if you want to pay by credit
card. If you have some other method in mind,
get in touch, and we'll see what we can work
out. Monopoly money, anything you may have
printed in the basement, and chickens are right out. ![]() Just for Fun
